Disney/Pixar Collection

Finally got a part of our collection up on our shelves. This isn't including our movies or most of our plush, but it includes the dolls and figures. This collection is a joint effort between myself and my roommate, iggy. Some things are more my collections over hers (Wreck-It Ralph, Ratatouille) where some are mostly all hers (Mulan, Brave).

Yeah, the cycling through is really noticeable at the Disney Store, where they seem to re-release a new version of the princesses every year with very minor changes to the dress/face sculpt.

Or release several new versions at once - I counted four different Meridas just at Target, just before and after the movie came out, and there are like six Rapunzels when I last checked.

Yeah and what annoys me about the Rapunzels especially is that the dresses for them all almost look the same. They didn't try to do anything different with it. Back in the 90s when they released multiple dolls for a film's release, they at least mixed it up more.

I noticed that, too! It's not like they couldn't have made up something for her home kingdom outfit. Or, hell, released one with brown hair. I'd have bought that! Instead, I just tried to compare which looked the least like a dressed up Barbie doll.

Yeah, I really don't know why they didn't do anything but the purple dress with a few little changes on every doll.

I mean, it doesn't have to be the movie outfit and kids will still love it. I miss when the outfits were as varied as this.

You think they'd make more money if the outfits were that varied. I mean, people would be able to tell the difference.

...man, I wish I had that many outfits for my old Jasmine.
