Disney/Pixar Collection

Finally got a part of our collection up on our shelves. This isn't including our movies or most of our plush, but it includes the dolls and figures. This collection is a joint effort between myself and my roommate, iggy. Some things are more my collections over hers (Wreck-It Ralph, Ratatouille) where some are mostly all hers (Mulan, Brave).

On that topic OMG, ONE OF YOUR JASMINE DOLLS IS TOTALLY THE SAME ONE I HAD GROWING UP AND IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AAFLJDFLAJ. And I also had one of those Mulan dolls (specifically the one in the red dress)

Oh my god. I cannot tell you how jealous I am that you have the Maleficent designer doll (or any of them to be honest, but Maleficent's my favourite)!

Your doll collection is absolutely amazing, and I'm pretty sure I used to have on of those Meg dolls ^^

Also, do I spy Booster Gold and Blue Beetle? :D

Aha. Some of the dolls are from back in the 90s, but I know the ones from the earlier 90s (like the original Jasmine, Aladdin, Belle, Beast, etc) we don't have anymore because we played with them too much as kids.

Ahhh I love the Maleficent doll. I was so glad I was able to get her because she's amazing.

And yes, Booster and Beetle are hanging out on the superhero shelf :)

Wow! That's incredible. I especially adore your purple Tangled flag and the entire shelf of WALL-E stuff you have. How long has it taken you to collect all of this? :o

Years. Some of the items I collected right as the movie came out (like the Ratatouille and Wall-E items, did the same obviously here with Wreck-It Ralph) others we've scoured eBay to try and find an old doll that we wanted but didn't have.

Oh, man! *_* So jealous~! How long did it even take you both to get all of these things? Are they all official merchandise? Like, stuff you could get at the Disney store? I need to stop by there more often, if that's the case - they've swanked up!

It's been years since we've started collecting this stuff.

Yep, all official merchandise. A good part is from the Disney Store, some from Target or Toys R US, and a few theme park exclusive ones in there as well.

Ah, theme parks~. I'm actually in the neighborhood of a Disney theme park. When I get the money, I should really stop by again. It's just a shame that Disney has so much canon and movies that they're practically obligated to cycle through stuff so quickly.

Yeah, the cycling through is really noticeable at the Disney Store, where they seem to re-release a new version of the princesses every year with very minor changes to the dress/face sculpt.

Or release several new versions at once - I counted four different Meridas just at Target, just before and after the movie came out, and there are like six Rapunzels when I last checked.

Yeah and what annoys me about the Rapunzels especially is that the dresses for them all almost look the same. They didn't try to do anything different with it. Back in the 90s when they released multiple dolls for a film's release, they at least mixed it up more.

I noticed that, too! It's not like they couldn't have made up something for her home kingdom outfit. Or, hell, released one with brown hair. I'd have bought that! Instead, I just tried to compare which looked the least like a dressed up Barbie doll.

Yeah, I really don't know why they didn't do anything but the purple dress with a few little changes on every doll.

I mean, it doesn't have to be the movie outfit and kids will still love it. I miss when the outfits were as varied as this.

You think they'd make more money if the outfits were that varied. I mean, people would be able to tell the difference.

...man, I wish I had that many outfits for my old Jasmine.
